10. About me
My name is Pauline Agustoni and I am a concept designer and textile artist based in Berlin.
After my graduation from Design Academy Eindhoven in The Netherlands in 2019, I developed my own artistic practice, working with media such as concept, textile and object design, installation, and publication.
I am a designer who works for society and culture. If I describe myself as a conceptual and textile designer with an eclectic practice, it is because I value a diverse choice of media and techniques in my work, but what bridges all my projects is their commitment in addressing social, historical and cultural issues.
I have a special interest in “forgotten” narratives - the ones of minority groups, old traditional know-hows or everyday overlooked actions - and use my projects as a way to tell those stories and answer the questions that emerge from the process. That’s the reason why collaboration and exchange are at the core of my practice, which is fed by in-depth interactions with the affected audience. Field research and meeting the principal actors involved are both essential in my approach and my favourite part of the design process.
